The Roar

  The roar was a mighty one, because it shook the strong walls of the canyon! But this time, the sound did not fade, but rather, it increased in it's volume and intensity, as the mountains joined in singing back in echoes which rang loudly throughout the land! The fury of the sound sent great boulders rolling down the hillside, and these crashed with the ones already below! This too made a loud sound, but these soon meshed with the louder sound from above!
  With this, I turned to return to the shade of the cool forest, but as I turned, I looked back over my shoulder to see if now I could see the end of this valley? But again, a scene showed in front of me? This one lingered for a longer while, and so I remember it!
  It was of an army of some kind, marching in perfect order! These were professional soldiers, and their snap and military precision was evident! Hard men, with hard looks upon their faces! As they marched by, they performed a close order drill with their weapons, presenting them as they went! These movements were perfect, and they moved by as one!
  Behind these were another group of soldiers, but these wore different uniforms, and carried weapons which were unknown to me? But these too marched by in perfect order, and these fellows were very impressive!
  I could watch no longer, and I turned from this grand scene, and Started back to the shadows again. Ah, I said, a cool walk, away from the hot sun, that could be just what a body needs?
