Comfort and Joy

It has come to the point, where all the pieces seem to be in place. A place of privacy and quiet. A place when a man has the time to think clearly. These times are rare, as the hustle and bustle of life, threatens to turn your peaceful state into one of chaos and strife.

But anyway, what I'm trying to say, is that for me, I am having, or will have had, one of those precious moments of perfect peace. For how long it will last, only the Lord knows, because that moment of coitous which occurs at the time of connection is a very fragile thing, and so can be lost in an instant. In fact, even though it is early Saturday morning, I thought I heard the sound of slamming doors not too far away.

Anyway, make this my Christmas letter to you all. Our country, and it's people are gathering strength each day, pushing hard now, with new volunteers added each day, are rising up against the oppression that reared it's ugly head in the prior eight years.

But this is not the time to speak of such things, as now is the time for celebration. For unto us a child was born, unto us a King is given. A manGod, a King, a leader, the hope and the answers so that all may become clear.

Christianity is a label, a way of referral, a name. But in a real sense, Jesus is the ant-religion, because religion is the doctrines of men. The Way the Truth and the Life comes from Jesus alone. Religion is imperfect as it comes from someone else's interpretation and because men are imperfect, and often times their well intentioned teachings are wrong. In two days we celebrate the coming of Christ. He came as a savior to all of mankind, a way to the Living God, the only way, the living connection from sinful man to a pure perfect God. But he did not come with fanfare and honor, not with legions of mighty warrior angels, but rather, humble, and hardly noticed. Born in a manger in a stable filled with animals who do what animals do.

As we give each other presents, remember that His presence is not just an ancient story, but an actual man who once walked among us, and still does today. Who better to be the link between man and God than someone who knows exactly how hard this life is? But for his reasons, something feels different this Christmas, as even the spiritually dead sense the change, that there is something different. A presence that is palpable, something foreign to them, and it scares them a bit, making them feel ill at ease.

What these lost souls don't realize is that Jesus being wholely man and wholely God makes perfect sense. because he, and only he, can link sinful men and women to the pure perfection of God. You cannot learn the truth of what I just told you by following the rules and regulations to be followed as the way to the Lord, religion alone cannot get you there, but you can learn. You start by reading His book. And although the Bible has many writers over thousands of years in history, it has but one author, the Lord God Almighty. If you truly want to find the answers to the difficult questions of life, you need read only one book. He already knows that most of you will chose to not read his book, and that to you it is foolish. But if you choose to seek him with all your heart, he will reveal himself to you more each day. Because Jesus was and still is God's gift to man. With him are the answers, and through him is the way to perfect Love.

Merry Christmas all, and look to the coming year with anticipation and hope. For God himself is moving, and there is no reason to fear. The way things have been moving lately, the future is finally beginning to look bright.

A Painting in a Painting

Outside not long ago, I was struck by a Hallmark scene. The snow fell soft and quiet, a mixture of snow laced with rain. The sky was completely grey, and I stood for a moment and took the time to enjoy the scene. It was one of those perfect shots, one that had no signs of progress in the way like cars, telephone poles and the like, just God's creation, beautiful and perfect. How perfect you might ask? So perfect that it was as if inside a snow globe. The globe stood alone on a round oaken table, dark stained with the fluted three legs bent out at the bottom on a slight radius forming the perfect tripod support.

This table scene is at the center of the painting, while in a shaded room, where an old man stood painting the details of the globe.  The area in which the old man painted was accented by a soft yellow light that threw shadows across the room out from the center.

That last line will have to do even though I had planned more detail to the painting. But as I was going along, I suffered storius interuptus, a malady to many I suppose, but the urgency of the interruption was unavoidable. Anyway, one last thing with the layered perspective. You are standing at a distance looking at the painting, so you become the living layer of the completed scene. And if someone should take a picture of you while viewing the art work.., well, that just adds yet another layer, so you can just take it from there on your own.

I haven't written on this site for a while, and so for whatever reason, I thought of it like a present to you for this, the Holiday season. Seeing as how we are just around the corner from yet another year, I pray that all goes well for you and yours, and on a larger scale, that Americans continue to awaken from the spell that was cast over this great land, and that we begin again to look for those things that unite us, rather than the division that is likened to our own civil war. I've seen it up close and personal. I lost a childhood friend from it, and just last night, a friend of mine told me that political correctness had divided his family. I guess thats it for now, see you all soon, and have a happy!

Says Who

Did you feel that? A great hush had fallen across the land. With that awful buzz, all the talking and other things in motion, still, a great hush came, unnoticed by most while caught in a moment of a self reflection of which they were unaware, it came over the land. This ssh that came with the wind, it brought with it a moment of total contentment and a feeling of fulfillment.

In truth, it would only have been felt, if they were alert at the moment, only by those who know God. Most of you missed it I know, and its a shame, as it would have thrilled you and sent a shudder to your bones. It was that it came during a moment of introspection, that a voice like thunder sounded! and then followed, total peace.

Only to those who have answered the call, those born again of the Spirit. Only they can sense these things, and only they can understand it. One of the many gifts of the spirit is wisdom, and this he gives freely to those who seek him in ernest.

Behold, I stand at that door and knock says He, let Him in before its too late says I.

No Day at the Beach

My wife and I went out early this morning to watch our youngest grand daughter run in the cross country event for her elementary school. It was a beautiful day, a little chilly early on, but by the time her event came around, people were shedding their sweat shirts and jackets. All the kids from all of the competing schools were exited, and it was just a great place to be. At the starting point, all of the parents and fans were yelling encouragement to their athlete. We too yelled to my little sweetheart Emma, and then walked around the field to where the finishing line was. About nine minutes later, the first girl through, who won the race came past us. At this point I yelled to her while clapping, Great job Sweetheart! Looking up and across to the people behind the opposite yellow rope, I got some very unhappy looks. Not from women as you might think, but from men.  I knew immediately, that I had broken one of the cardinal rules of correct political speak. Our Emma finished a little over 11 minutes. Not bad. Anyway, I turned to my daughter in law and asked about my transgression. She just smiled and said, It could have been worse had I called her Hon or Honey.

Later out in the parking lot as we were saying good bye to my son and his family, my daughter in law and I expanded on my blunder at the race. I asked what was proper, and we discussed options. At first I thought, C'mon human being!, but that couldn't do because the word man was part of human. For those of you who know me personally, you know that my first instinct is to intentionally aggravate those who have embraced this new religion, whose orthodoxy and general rules of dos and don'ts,  are created by those who look to install a new morality. A morality based primarily on the mind set that our current morality which is based in the ten commandments, given to mankind by God the Father, were in conflict with our constitution? This of course is ridiculous, as God gave us only ten rules. While the godless orthodoxy of the men and women who embrace this PC ideology, have literally thousands of rules which change more every day. This lack of a strong base and no foundation is frustrating to put it mildly, and is why so many take longer to answer a simple question, as they need to be sure to filter what they say. Make no mistake, PC speak has two primary goals. The first is to remove any religion but there's from the public discourse, and the other is to interfere with, and eventually to stop free speech.  This godless new religion is being taught to our children in public schools from kindergarten, right on through high school. If this doesn't bother you as a parent, it should. Luckily, my son's kids go to Catholic school and are spared the propaganda now being forced on our children by the Marxist left.

Oh, and as to my little problem with how to cheer on the kids. I settled on the word entity. This shouldn't insult anyone. It may sound a bit strange yelling, C'mon entity, but on the bright side, its still better than calling them all Purple Pandas. That was actually tried in a school some time ago. That bit of silliness comes from the gay community, who thought that calling girls girls, and boys boys was  dangerous. The left is easily terrified by the obvious and the truth. A sad reality of the PC religion that they helped to create.

America,

Now that political correctness and the politics of division have taken away the game we love from the professional ranks, what is left to do but to watch them choose to leave? The line that is being scratched in the sand, has been drawn by Roger Goodell, though Roger is not the problem. He is only a pawn of the propagandists who tell him what to do and what is proper to think. Roger and his fellow knee takers should be felt sorry for, because they are only sheep in a game they don't understand.

He and the rest of the mesmerized drones, carry out the will of the socialist/globalist agenda. The leaders of this hopeless cause are the fools who actually believe that this new world order can become the man made utopia they dream of. Psst, hey fellas, we can't even get along in our own country, and you think that a centralized global leader is the answer? Whatever Kool Aid you're drinking, please keep it all for yourself.

As for my part, I would rather die then see the United States of America become the socialist state of America. There is nothing like the good ole U.S.A., it sounds good to me as it does with most Americans, no matter their political stripe. And now that one sport has been stolen from us by those who find us deplorable and wish us harm, we turn to America's game, and in this current time of playoff, the game has never shined brighter. As pro Football struggles to ride the wave of politics, Baseball has become our only refuge from the ugliness and lies of the division which looks to divide us. For those of you who don't follow the game, there are now only three teams left to decide the World Series champion. The L.A. Dodgers won the National league title, and they wait for the winner of the Yankees/Astros series for the American league representative. Though Houston is the sentimental favorite because of the great flood they have gone through, I remember when after the original 9/11, the Yankees too were the sentimental favorite, as even long time Yankee haters found themselves pulling for the team. But it was not to be. Having said all that, I am rooting for a right coast vs. left coast series. East against West, two teams as far from each other as they can be, it makes one hell of a metaphor for where we are now as a country.

And now that football has rejected Colin Kapernek to lead it, Al Sharpton and some Congress woman who looks like a female pimp are given the baton, and they are to lead the parade. Why are so many minorities so fooled that they follow fools such as these? Where are the true champions to replace the great Martin Luther King? Racism? Um, this may come as a surprise to you two morons, but the country elected a man of color as President, and the nation's top cop as well as most other cabinet jobs were filled by blacks. And you call us racist? You are the racist, as you look to drag us back into the past when separate but equal was the law. So go ahead you most ugly of couples, go and lead you're parade of bigotry and ignorance. I think you'll find that more will not follow you then will. Because we the people see no such problem other than isolated cases. Out here in the real world, we all get along fine. Even though you'll dismiss me with the false claim of white privilege, a moniker dreamed up by the left's propaganda machine, lets get back to the purity of sport, shall we? I'm a life long Yankee fan and my two favorite players are both black. Does that count?

Symphony

And so it was, I sat and watched as the white puffed clouds rolled by in a crystal clear day. It is at this point, that the power hit me again. The power of God hit me like a thunderbolt from above. A diamond bullet right between the eyes.

I had not felt the full power of the Spirit in such a long time. It was a welcome awakening, because it brought with it a confidence to my bones. It was a moment of extreme peace, a calm as like a flat lake. I was renewed and confident and it felt good.

My country and my people saith the Lord, I love you so dearly and yet you resist me, and you will not listen. Listen, the Holy Bible is a living document, did you think that meant to stop? It goes on through me, for I am a living document for the truth of God.

A stewart, nothing more is what I am, for I am just the messenger. For a new chapter is being written to add to the ancient book, and we are all living it, Yes, a new chapter is being written, and you are all part of it because it happens in this our time, so you see my friend, like it or not, you are living it.

Part and Parcel

What is peace? Isn't it to be free from worry? I mean when you get right down to it, it really is simple isn't it? Free of worry about the silly things like how your hair looks, right on up those matters of importance, including the impending death of someone you love. Worry enters life is is a part of everyones life, every moment of every day, worry is a human condition.

Yeah, and as for me, I've decided, peace is being free from worry. Imagine no worries, no wondering how we are to pay this months bills, worries about all kinds of things., and they can come at you at any moment. Bits of insecurity have a way of appearing at the most impromptu and unwelcome time. Unlike our animal friends, you can see it as a blessing, or you might consider it a curse? Depending on your perception at that moment.

Now here is the point that I am trying to make, True peace, complete peace, no worry of any kind forever, The place I'm talking about of course, is Heaven. One of the many great blessings in heaven is eternal peace. And because you have eons of time to consider the truths about all things. You can only do it with a clean heart, one without worry.

You see, life like the other side of death is eternal. Most of you will reject this, because it is written in the book of Life. I'm not much of a math guy, so figuring the odds, what will be the ratio? 10%, 15%, who knows for sure. But what we do know is, that by way of the mob, is to choose to ignore the Living God of us all. I can't understand it? They make fun of our simple faith, when in reality, it takes a million times more faith to believe in nothing, (evolution), than it does to believe in a superior intellect. Evolution occurs as knowledge increases, and again, thats what separates us from the animals.

One nation under God

God I love this country, and I am saddened deeply by what I see. I see a people who are moving towards doing what no nation on earth could dream of doing, and that is to destroy this great land. A house divided cannot stand, you have probably heard that somewhere before. We are busy eating ourselves alive, while outside our borders,  death and mayhem are everywhere. As for the prophetic side of things, I have been so saddened, that I went to see how a similar event in history compared to this our time. I went to the book of Jeremiah in the bible. Jeremiah was known as the weeping prophet because, he cried because of what was going to happen to his nation and their people if they did not turn from the way they were going. He cried because the Lord had told him, that if they didn't heed the warnings that he gave them from Him, that not only would the nation fall, but all of it's people would be taken off to Babylon, with most to be used as slaves. Not only did the people ignore his warnings, but they also ridiculed him also, and that couldn't have felt too good.

As for myself, I'm not a cryer, I get mad at the situation. The hardest part to except of the Serenity Prayer is excepting the things you can't change. This weekend in Boston, I saw a glimmer of hope, as even though there were a few instances where the the morons turned to violence, for the most part, it was a peaceful demonstration from both sides. Who knows, maybe a common respect and dialogue will begin?

This country must come together, we must learn to agree to disagree at times, but also to put away all thoughts of violence. It is not news to any of you that the world is a very dangerous place. We, all of us, no matter our political views must come together as one people again. Because if we choose to remain stubborn, and choose instead to embrace the ways of division, I just can't help but wonder who our Babylon will be?

We The People

Just think of the power of those three words. They are so simple that they are interchangeable in any order, and the meaning is still the same, It is about us, we are the people that the Constitution talks about. . Our representatives in Washington are supposed to do what we tell them. We the people have the true power, not them! and some how, this has become reversed. Our power is diminished when we are no longer one people. Like him or hate him, you must admit that Donald Trump being elected president is by far and away the greatest political upset in American politics, perhaps the world? Everyone, myself included for a while, didn't take him seriously, and certainly thought he'd have no chance against the old Chicago regime, who had promised Hillary that it was her turn. Certainly all of the elitists looked upon it as a joke, The sheep like press reporting on the certainty they gained from those they worship. Have you noticed that lately the star power for those who look to stand up for the left has reached the bottom of the barrel?

Rosie O'Donald, Lena Dunham, Who? They are egg plants. If you were to join their brains, you couldn't run a forty watt bulb for more than three seconds. The people I really worry about are those who are stupid enough to listen to these two morons. Check it out kids, its only a publicity stunt, done for clicks, done to become relevant again. Trust me on this, when it comes to their kind, wisdom is far from them, it scares them, because wisdom is full of truth. It isn't really their fault, these kids who actually believe this tripe, they have been programmed from their youth. I'll give you a personal story that will prove how our children can become so dumb. The wife and I went to a Winter recess play. Winter recess, it used to be called the Christmas holiday, for you old timers out there. The play in which the children sung of course, did not have one true Holliday song in it. I mean I could see possibly leaving Oh Holy Night out, but no Jingle bells, no Rudolf the red nosed reindeer? Disgusted, I left the auditorium to walk the halls of the elementary school. Posters everywhere, but about things like, the proper foods to eat, tons of ones about bullying, all that was missing were the warning signs to obey. Not a Christmas tree or a snowman to be found. There was no warmth in these halls, they were stark, to be honest, it scared me. I thought to myself, not only have they taken Christ out of Christmas, but my grand children were being brain washed.

I got ahead of myself here, so let me make the point short. By electing Donald Trump when so much was against him is an historic moment. Know why? Because we, the people, remember us? We came to the ballot box and voted for him. He waded through seventeen professional politicians, somewhat rudely at times, but he beat them all. Then he takes on the sure winner, the next in line as decided by the elitists, Hillary. and he made her look like a fool. What happened, they screamed, how can this be?!? It was the true power exerting itself. It was us, the People. They work from both sides now to divide us. Want to know another power you have? This one is about business. As consumers, each time we choose one product over another, we voting for the company that made that product. TV ratings is what drives advertising prices, and that is how these networks make their money. If they offer nothing but the beliefs of the left, change the channel! Power to the people, because that is what our form of government is for. Not to give over our individual freedom to any King or Queen, and certainly not from a bunch of snobby elitists, who probably have not done an honest day's work in years. In a way I feel sorry for them, as they too are like sheep, they too must toe the line, thats why most of them haven't had an original thought it years.

Confessions of a Male Chauvinist

So a funny thing happened to me on my way to the pools. The 2008 one is the one I'm thinking of. I've told you in the past that I voted for Barack Obama, but that is only half true. I voted for him in the primary for two basic reasons. First, Hillary I knew was bad news, as she has been around forever. In fact, I knew that Hillary left more than just bad press clippings in her wake, but also a few dead bodies. Besides that bit of reasoning, I thought that the election of a white woman before a black man, would be the final slap in the face to the black community in general, and to black men in particular.

But in the general election, I voted for McCain, even though he didn't have a chance. I knew it for sure when team Obama was complaining about the way that the McCain team was unfairly accusing Mr. Obama of being inexperienced and very weak on national defense. Ultimately, team McCain did in fact soften on Obama's weak kneed approach to all things military. I knew then that he would lose.   Now fast forward to today. In today's climate of victimhood, surely such thinking would have made the radical left feminists to label me as a sexist. But ladies please, call me a male chauvinist, hell, I admit that, but a sexist? It sounds so violent.

What brought all this to mind was that I had put up a musical post from Van Morrison's album, The Philosopher's Stone. But I took it down this morning because get this, PC speak had gotten me too! I am duly ashamed of myself, but there you have it. It was afterall, Father's day, and so the piece was decidedly masculine. I can't remember most of it, but I touched on what it means to be a man, and the responsibility that comes with it.  Obviously, I think very few if any, would disagree that the absence of a father in a family is devastating, it was one of the greatest ills in our society. Boys who are raised without a dad or a solid male role model are ten times more likely to get in trouble than those boys with a father. While thinking of a way to close this one out, I thought about the young men and boys who didn't have that influence in their lives.  But then at the end, it got personal for me, as in my mind I was speaking to one young man who some of you might know if I were to name him, but I won't. I said to this young man that even though he is convinced that he doesn't have a father, he does. A father who loves him and cares about his life. I said to him, Don't worry son, you have a dad. Now of course I include girls and young women also, in short, all children need fathers. And to you young men out there. It doesn't take a man to make a baby, it takes a man to raise that son or daughter.

The attack of the machines

In case it isn't too hard for some of you to think of the violent take over of the machines we created to eventually turn against us, like in the movie, The Terminator. Let me point out to you that the subtleness of our total dependence on them is well under way. Our absolute obsession to be the first on your block to own the newest and fastest hand held computer/phone, is both sad and funny. I watch as people rush to give away more of themselves to these machines.  Their privacy, and yes, in extreme cases, they give away their very lives to these machines, and so willingly. I know that many of you view me as just an angry old man trying to stave off the onslaught of these devices, and you would be both right and wrong about it, both at the same time. Its true that they have already begun to take over, and that I do my best to fight it, but I am not angry about what I see going on in this situation, but rather sad, and a little scared too. Make no mistake, big brother is already watching, we past that milestone in the Obama years, even though the potential for such abuse was there before his administration. The question is, Can we stop it? The answer to that is no, nor should we when the computers are used for medical and scientific reasons, and in that way, are indispensable.

But as for its offshoot, the social internet, that is a whole other matter. The social internet exists for one reason and one reason only, and that is to sell. It is one huge selling machine. Having been taken on three different occasions for a total of $1,250 dollars, Two fifty for a concert seat scam, the other $1,000 wasted on two so called Christian self publish companies. Wolves in sheep's clothing types for those of you who know scripture. If you remember nothing else from this article, remember these two old true sayings, One, Nothing is for free, and two, If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Lessons I relearned online. I'm pretty street smart, and in one on one personal encounters, I can spot the schemers and the hustlers a mile off, but when dealing with the faceless and dead computers? Well, like I admitted, they already got me once, they won't again. There was one other time, and that with a stock advice company. But that was more of a salesman lying to make a commission.

But quickly now, they, ( the computer giants), do two things to you the consumer. First, you must submit to training for whatever device you choose to use. Knowing full well that the average person, no matter your age, will need their help. Via planned obsolescence, wherein you need the next upgrade or app, or, to keep just enough a secret, so that you are totally dependent on them, either way, they win, and you the buyer whose hard earned dollars have made these few men so incredibly rich and powerful, are at their mercy. Either way, no matter how you look at it, we have reached that tipping point where we are more dependent on them, than are they of us.  And if that doesn't scare you in some way, it should.

DAMN!

Every time I think I'm out they pull me back in. If you are sick of hearing that line so often I can't blame you, as it gets used a lot. But it is a good quote, I use it too from time to time, and this is one of those times.

Politics, god how I hate the filth that has become politics! I have tried so hard to stay away from it, but like it or not, here I am again. So let's talk about the press. But only as a fictional account, as the story line was to be me interviewing members of the press. Me the interviewer, and them the interviewee. The two I have chosen for my little fantasy interview, was little CuckieTodd and Chris Matthews. I would love a one on one with the chief honcho over at NBC news, but he'd never have the nerve to face me. So, I'm a working type guy, the hell with the boss, and we'll use the lowly reporter. Nose to the grindstone feretting out the real story type of guys! Just kidding, C'mon, smile, this is Chuck and Chris. They aren't real news men, they are the puppets on the strings that other people pull. Now Chuckie I kinda like because he looks like one of my son's buddies, but Chris? There was a time when you were good, but now? But lets not feel too sorry for the lad, because when I think of these two clowns I see one as my son's buddies whose a nut, and as for Chris, this ones for you homo phobial PC'ers. Early into the first term, someone put up a placard on the internet with Chis and some other guy dressed as girl cheerleaders. I can't help it. Every time I see him on TV, thats the picture I see in my mind. And you know what I found out? Its very hard to take seriously a man dressed in a tu-tu.

I was a teenage liar,

Back in the days when I was a liar, I was one of the best. To be a great liar, you must remember the chronology of each thread you spun in your web of lies. As time goes by and the circumstances change after the initial lie was told, it requires that you lie all the more to keep the first one covered. Like a spider, the liar must spin more and more lies, creating layer upon layer the longer the truth is to remain hidden.

But the truth will always out at some point, and when liars are exposed, their reactions are predictable and almost always the same. Usually, the first reaction is to blame someone else, it is never the liar's fault. Rather than finally come clean and admit their guilt, the next step is the excuses which are many. But when all else fails, and the excuses don't change things in their favor, the liar will look to the last resort, I call it the "poor me" syndrome, where the liar now caught and exposed will look for sympathy. The honor that truth brings is foreign to their DNA.

Liars are by nature egotistical and self centered, selfish in a word. I know, because when I was a liar, I was a great liar, my ego convincing me that I was smarter than everyone else. The plain truth about lying is that with all the scheming and speech filtration necessary to be good at it, it is exhausting and a drain on your brain, sapping you of most of your mental power.

Now that I am a truth teller, I can tell you from personal experience, that it is hard to be a good liar but easy to tell the truth. No scheming and planning is necessary, you just say what's on your mind. It isn't as difficult as you might think once you get the hang of it. Afterall, it is natural to lie, as like a child's first reaction when asked, Who broke the lamp? But believe me, just by being able to speak the truth openly is freeing. It brings peace where lying brings stress. Try the truth, I promise you it will set you free!

The Bubble People?

We'll start at the end, as I wasn't sure if this would be the story I'd tell. But as it turns out, as I was thinking of finally writing something and it, this might as well be this one. So, the Bubble People will do. You see, I have been putting off writing lately for reasons I don't understand. Also I have my easel set up with the last painting I was working on, but I haven't touched that either? Why is the reason for the question mark.

Apparently I'm in a state of flux of some sort, not knowing whether to go this way or that, having no point of focus, with no real clear direction. Thats the way its been lately, just taking it as it comes, one day at a time. Just ramblingI guess? I keep waiting for something to happen, though I have no idea what, or even if whatever it is, whether it will happen at all. I keep moving forward though, one day at a time, and in some cases, one moment at a time. Accordingly, with no point of focus and no clear objective I move not in a straight line, but meander from one side of the road to the other, just taking it as it comes. Toil and trouble with more questions than answers, trapped as it were, by the limits of my own understanding. Also, there is this gnawing feeling that there is something I'm supposed to do, but who knows, perhaps this is all there is to be, and maybe I'm already doing it? So for now, and at this point in time, this is what is going on in my bubble. How are you this day, and whats going on in your bubble? Beyond your family and friends, when you come right down to it, each of us each of us is alone, each within our own bubble, alone.

Happy Easter

So finely a moment of peace. Sometimes life can be one interruption after another, and lately, I've been up to my ears in interruptions, some good, and some bad. Anyway, now that I have a moment to myself, let me wish you all a belated Happy Easter. As we sometimes say to each other on Easter morn, He has risen, and respond, he has risen indeed!

So now I'm wondering as to what method I should use for the message, and more importantly, what should the message be about? Something current I should think, how about drugs? Let me start off by telling you something that most of you will dismiss out of hand. That being, that Heroin is the best this world has to offer. Each of us desires the same thing deep within. For what each of us is so  looking for, is peace. Peace, outer peace and inner peace, total peace, and opioids according to the dose, can provide that peace if only for a moment. But my God, the cost for that brief feeling comes at a staggering cost, and for many, their lives.

The alternative for this false peace of course is what God offers. Peace, eternal peace, peace forever, peace from what was, peace from what is, and peace for what is to come. Peace. Eternal peace. Peace forever and a day. Happy Easter!

Max

So me and Max, that is to say Max and I, went for our morning walk. Max? Oh, he's my dog. We have an on again off again relationship, and this morning, we were trying to beat the rain. Well I was, but as for Max, he was in a mischievous mood, and was in no particular hurry. Being a twice a day pooper and the fact that he hadn't pooped last night added to the urgency.

Poor Max, I've had dogs all my life, but never one as aggravating as him. He's one of those designer dogs, when they mate one breed to another. A Puggle by name, a mix between a beagle and a pug. Take a dog obsessed with food, and one who likes to smell everything, and that sums it up. As for him, the struggle will continue for a while, as I know it isn't his fault. All of my prior dogs were Americans, that is to say they were mutts. A melting pot of a dog. Incredibly faithful, and looking only to please. Not that Max doesn't try in his way, he does, but his ways are so limited. Again in Max's defense, he is the first dog I had to walk. The others had yards and other freedoms. So anyway, here I am tethered to this dog in the rain, just wanting him to poop so we can get home before the skies opened up. We made it! Halleuia, and good times for me and Max and me.

The First Step

The biggest threat to our nation and to all of the free people of the world, is socialism and all it's forms. In short, socialism means central control. On the surface it seems attractive as it promises equality for all. What it proposes is that is that all of our needs would be provided by the government. In America this central government would be located in Washington DC,  in the case of the new world order of globalism, the location of the government could be anywhere. In a way, whether you believe in Heaven or think of it only as a mythical place, heaven could be used as a way to understand why socialism looks so promising as a form of government. In heaven, all but God are truly equal, with socialism, all but the elitists ruling class are equal. Both promise to supply all of our needs, and in heaven's case, an eternity of total peace and happiness. Of course in Heaven, God would be the ruler and the provider, where as with socialism it would be people who would lead and have complete control. Therein lies the danger. Virtually all the tyrants and brutal regimes throughout history could never have existed if not allowed by the people to be ruled. Here in the United States of America, our form of government is called a Democratic Republic, and what it provides is that no one person or source of power can rule, as, We the People rule ourselves rule ourselves. Capitalism is wrongly conflated with the government, but it is only the economic engine that powers our Republic. Capitalism in and of itself is in large part why this still young nation has become so powerful so fast, is that capitalism that stirs the drive toward entrepreneurship and invention. As much as you hear the left whine about the abuses of capitalism, they have a good understanding of it as most of the wealthiest among us our liberals politically. One of the biggest problems with socialism and it's big brother communism, is that there is no incentive to create and work hard to achieve your dreams. With those types of government, the more you make the more they take as a way to pay for what the government supplies. The only truly wealthy people with those forms of government are the ruling class and those who are already wealthy. This new global initiative, this drive towards a one world government will be in the form of socialism. In fact, socialism and globalism are synonymous and are one in the same. No matter what side of the political fence you are on, one thing we all agree on is that this country is far too powerful to be taken over militarily by anyone. If we are to fall, we will fall from within. Just like ancient Rome, the first step is to lose our morality as a people, and most already know that we have become morally bankrupt. Common sense is non existent it would seem, and we have replaced commonly held morals with political correctness. For me, the biggest story nationally was the rise of an openly admitted socialist. If the fix hadn't have been in place for Hillary's anointing, one cannot help but wonder how close Bernie would have come to being the Democratic nominee? Lately we hear a lot about Russia's attempt at destabilizing our political system, and the very fact that we are accusing each other is more than the old USSR could ever have hoped for. Spreading doubt is their business. Hitler, and a new word, Hitlerism is now also become part of our national conversation. People call each other facists while few understand what it is. Facism is the means used to keep people in line in a lockstep mentality, it is not a form of government, but a means of enforcing that government. Hitler didn't start as a Nazi, but as the head of the German Socialist worker's party, and as for Russia, they were and will be again if Vladmir Putin has his way, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic. This socialist/globalist utopia so wanted by the left must be rejected in all of it's forms. The question yet to be answered is whether the party of JFK and the old line Democratic party will become that party again, or are they to become a new party called, the Democratic Socialist party. Certainly the party I knew and supported has made a hard left turn, but if they are to survive, they must cast off the politics of division and meet the rest of us in the middle of the road.

Encounter

Immediately I was engulfed by the spinning lights of many colors that swirled at the edge of the craft. Within the circle of spinning lights was a warm bright light. The light came from the craft directly over my head, bright but not unpleasant. When I looked up to see more detail of the ship itself, I could see nothing but the light. The madness of the periphery of spinning lights and their low level hum ended at the edges, and the warming peaceful light shined quietly everywhere else. The inner light was quiet, and this helped put me at ease. So at ease, that I never once gave thought to the worry about the craft landing on me and squashing me like a bug. Somehow I knew that the craft was content for now to just hover.

As the enormity of what was happening started to be accepted,  my head became filled with questions, but I decided to keep still and just enjoy the peace that the light made me feel. Also, for what reason I can not tell you, but I was convinced that this was all there was to be, no visitor would appear from an unseen door, and this too helped to put me at my ease. I had no idea where I was or how much time had passed, but all I can tell you is that I have never encountered such total peace.

I remember feeling grateful and thinking to myself, Wherever I am, I could stay here forever. Total peace and contentment, sure, why not? I raised up my arms outstretched to the light, and from somewhere the most fragrant and beautiful breeze I have ever known, blew across my body. And with this breeze, beautiful music of a type I had never heard sounded all along the lighted area. But now finally my mind caught up, and curiosity got the better of me, and my mind became flooded with questions. But as this rush of questions mounted in my mind, I could began to sense that the  feeling of complete peace began to fade. The music stopped abruptly,  and the warming light began to darken, I thought in the noise of the now spinning colors that I heard a voice say, "I have answered all of your questions, even those that you have not yet thought to ask". With that the craft whirred in bright colors to life, and was gone!

Just Rambling

When I was a little kid back in the fifties, occasionally we would go down to Florida to visit my grandmother, my father's mother. Back then there wasn't the modern interstate I 95. The driving route then was route 301. 301 was more a series of county roads linked at the state lines. The mid point tourist stop was called, South of the Border. I believe that the location was near or at the line between North and South Carolina, but don't quote me on that. But we had already passed that point and were in Georgia. There were only two lanes, one heading South and the Other North. Along the way, were shacks like the ones you would see in the movies. Tumble down shacks with tin roofs and front porches whose roofs looked like they would fall at any time. The black faces of the people who sat on those porches had the look of despair, even the kids seemed down trodden as they watched us pass by. And yet there was something else in those faces, and that was, the spirit to make the best of it. Down and out, but not beaten. The scene I describe, was during the time when many Southern states had installed a law known as  Jim Crowe law, and for those of you too young to know what that was, the premise of this law was, Separate but equal. Separate being the key word, legal segregation. My brother and I sat in the back, our faces pressed up against the windows. My dad drove on quietly looking at the scene on either side, but mostly intent on the road ahead. My mom dabbed at her eyes which she blamed on the moss that was everywhere hanging off the trees. I can't speak for Alan, but as for me, I thought she was crying. We stopped for gas at a small gas station with our Jersey plates, and it seemed like we had the plague or something. My brother and I stretched our legs while my mom made a bee line for the ladies room. One for white people and one for black, even the water fountains were separate, White only signs were common. I had better get this part in and not forget it, because no matter how I tried to concentrate on the story, I keep thinking to myself, Don't forget Ludiwicki. Not sure of the spelling of the town, but it was definitely in Georgia. After we were on our way again, we were pulled over by a fat cop chomping on a cigar., just like you'd picture him. The speed trap was set up where fatso in his patrol car hid behind a billboard located just after a curve and on the line of the town. The speed limit in the town was 25 miles per hour, and because you were traveling at highway speeds of fifty to sixty MPH, as soon as you passed the sign you were speeding. The choice given my dad was to pay the fine in cash, or wait for the county judge who would be there on Wednesday. My dad was not the wimpy type, and all I remember is my mom saying was, Andy, Andy, calm down, don't kill him! The old man must have figured that discretion in this case was better than valor. He paid the fine and we left. The town had a moment of fame as I believe that 60 Minutes did a piece on speed traps narrated by Mike Wallace, and Ludiwicki was one of the worst.

When you think back on such times, it is amazing how much the country has changed. Yes, there was a time when this country was openly racist, but we have evolved, and that type of thinking died years ago. The sad part is, even after a black president was elected, and the top law enforcement official in the land was also a man of color, there are still those who label people as racist? We hear about how it was the black vote or the Hispanic vote that made all this progress possible, but without a lot of white voters, it would not have happened. America is not a racist country, and for those who still claim that we are, know this to be true, but they claim it only to divide, they do it for political gain.  We, each of us, need to look at what we've gained and look forward to the future. If we are going to survive as a nation, we must shun those who would divide us, and look only to unite. We have met racism head on and defeated it. Insist on remembering who we were serves no one. Be proud that even though it took too long and that many wrongs had been committed back then, that those times are gone forever. Congratulations America! Now is the time to move on forward together. United we stand, divided we fall, its that simple.

Time and Relevance

Time is relative to many factors, one of which is our perception of the moment. Any moment, no matter how long or how short. One of the sad ironies of life is that the good times are fleeting and rarer than the bad times. Even in our memories, the bad times are remembered with far greater accuracy than the good times.

Time is relative to your perspective, even the position you were in if the time period we are talking about is an event similar to witnessing an accident or a crime . But time, total time elapsed, all time, marches on ever forward. Sixty seconds to a minute, sixty minutes to an hour and so on. Time is relevant to your situation, when you are anxiously awaiting something, seven minutes can seem like seven hours. Conversely, when you are free of the constraints of schedules, say out on the road without a worry on your mind, seven hours can pass like seven minutes.

We divide time here on earth into time zones because the world is round and not flat. Straight up high noon should occur at precisely twelve each day, and from what I understand, we have a centralized chronological clock to keep track of those things. But what is the reference for time when in outer space? By what centralized clock is the time in the cosmos dictated? Earth time, for what? Earth time looses it's importance when you are free of it. But time, no matter your point of reference, no matter how you choose to measure it moves ever forward, one click at a time, tick tick tick. With time what wasn't becomes what is, soon passing to what was. The only way to be truly free of the constraints of time is to be eternal. But there is a way to the eternal realm, there is a way to not only move through time, but with it. With time, eternal time, you will know what it knows. I tell you the truth, there is like everything else in life, only two sides to the eternal coin. Eternal death or eternal life. both are true for all of eternity, choose life!

Come Togetrher

No matter your political stance, whatever side you've chosen, I think that we can all agree on one thing? The world is a very scary place. No matter where you look on a map of the world, there is serious trouble of some kind. Wars and rumors of war abound. Murder has become common place, we have become numb to mass shootings and bombings, they are a common occurence. But we as Americans go on unfazed by all of this, as we are more involved with important matters, like bathroom designations, or whether you are for or against a millionaire  football player who refuses to stand for the country that gave him all that he has. We are divided, and it doesn't matter whether you blame this fact on Obama or on Congress, but its ludicrous to blame it on the new President. He just got here, he hasn't been in office a month, he inherited this mess.

But rather then tear into the lies used to separate us, lets make it simple, and just admit that we are a divided nation, more divided than at any time in our brief world existence. But ask yourself a question, Is it wise to choose to stay divided? With all we face, both at home and in the world, isn't it wiser to keep our personal points of view to ourselves for a while, and look to what is good for our nation? You know, Ask not what your country can do for you.. You know the rest. If you don't, you should. A wise man from our history once said that a country divided against itself cannot stand. People, please stop the tantrums, its embarrassing! The reality is that we need each other, and patriotism must become more than a punch line or a fashion statement. Old fashioned patriotism, things like home and apple pie. We owe 20 trillion dollars in loans, and as we said, the world is a dangerous place. We must come to together Its time for the left to suck it up and put on their big pants, you lost an election and it hurts. I know, as I have been on that side. From the perspective of the other half of the country, we suffered for eight years. The difference? We suffered in silence, went to work and went about our lives. You see, to us rioting and destroying property is lawlessness, and we don't make excuses for it. We too were anxious and worried as we watched a president who seemed more interested in dividing us than uniting us. For me personally, my rage-O-meter went off the charts on 9/11 when four Americans were slaughtered after a 13 hour gun fight. But strangely, no one seemed to care. I believe our President went golfing?  It wasn't easy to stomach and I didn't understand how such a thing was ignored. Angry? Sure, but unlike the left, no one went to the streets to rant and disrupt. We must learn to talk to each other and not just dig in our heels deeper. If you can't think of any way that you could be friends with someone whose political views are different from your own, try remembering that we are all Americans! The world is a scary place, we need each other. Come together, find a way, because neither side can make it alone. If this great nation is to survive, we must unite again as one.

America

Sport is the best of us. That is to say, that it is the purity of the game that we aspire to, and yesterday's game was the perfect example. I've heard that every year, the Super Bowl is the most watched of any sport in the world, and it is an American sport. Forgive me if my patriotic pride is showing?
Unlike what you've been told, America is exceptional, and we have been since our berth. The game is perfect, and therefore pure. Does that mean that all who play it play it straight up? No, of course not, people will always look for ways around the game's rules, but that doesn't taint the game, it taints the player. But even with it's faults, the game, whatever that game is, is the best of us. Yesterday, if only for awhile, we were united in our interest. Unlike their counterpart in the entertainment business, sports isn't all about me, it is about team.
There isn't a skilled player, (those who handle the ball), that wouldn't give thanks to his teammates, because without them, he couldn't get the chances he gets at stardom.
Sport is the perfect metaphor for what America should be aspiring to become again. Nations, like sport's teams can only win as one, we must come together and become one team.
As for the actual game itself? Wow, what a game, the best I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. In truth I changed the channel for a while, you know, a fair weather fan. Anyway, when I turned it back on, it was an eight point game! It was like there were two games rather than two halves.
In the first game, Mat Ryan and company had their way totally, while New England played as if asleep. Whatever else happened in that locker room, there were probably quite a few prayers offered up while waiting for the game to begin again.
But for whatever the reason, congratulations to the Kraft family and the New England Patriots, World Champions!

Tech No

Technology moves faster than we do, and technology has gotten ahead of us. That is the real story, that someone thousands of miles away can look into anyones life, business, and matters of State, can be gotten by pushing the correct sequence of buttons. So now, we have a big political debate, as to whether it was the Russians this time. Just some months ago, the Chinese got the personal records of 23 million federal workers. Imagine the opportunities for blackmail that could arise given that kind of information. So, was it the Russians, the Chinese, or some disgruntled fat genius from a basement somewhere? To quote our good friend Hillary, At this point what difference does it make? But why concentrate on the hacking of the DNC? Them small potatoes when compared to "the Grid." In our wild eyed acceptance of all that is newer and faster, our personal information, and our national safety in the larger sense, is at serious risk. Me? I'm just an angry old man yelling at the kids to stay off my lawn when it comes to technology. This is the new era I heard tell of when I was a kid. Who would have thought that humans would become so dependent on machines? But what's the answer, can a remedy be found? I don't think so, other than to insist that we slow it down a bit, there is no solution. We have become addicted to speed. But as for me and my fellow pitch fork holders already know, computers aren't really faster, at least not for the consumer. Is your credit machine a stick in edge kind or a slide kind? Do I have to sign the computer screen, or do you have a paper one? Now thats speed! I won't bore you with my Fedex encounter, but suffice it to say that a three minute type transaction took about fifteen. Got so tired of waiting, didn't even wait for my printed receipt. Anyway, enough about that.

The second part of this waste of time as to who, is the subject matter that this illegal act uncovered. The truth will out. It is an old expression, but none the less true. The outed emails exposed corruption and collusion, and possibly more upsetting, was the utter disdain for the American people they showed.  But beyond the Democrats, what worries me the most is the collusion of the press. Freedom of the press is a Constitutionally protected right. The ideal being journalists were to be like the Doctor patient relationship, or the Lawyer client relationship. The press was to be the conduit between the people and their government, they are the ones who are meant to keep us informed. In short, they are to tell us the truth. That is what worries me the most, because without an honest press, how far are we from State news?
