The silence was deafening, there was a cold chill to the air! Planning on watching Killing Lincoln tonight on Nat Geo. It starts in fourteen minutes? Of the two popular books out about, Presidential assassination, this is the one that I wanted to read! The other, Killing Kennedy? I lived it! I figured unless Bill was going to tell us who ordered the hit, that I probably wouldn't have much to gain?
But this one, Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth I know, more then that, not very much? Lincoln of course is one of the key figures in American History, and he ruled in the time of the Civil War! He, Lincoln, fought to make men free! Politics were played, and deals were made, but in the end, the President prevailed!
The paraells to this time in history, though polar opposites, are still astounding! One of the men looked only to make men free, while the other, wants to enslave them again! One looked to unite a country, while the other is content to divide it? It doesn't matter your politics, whether you consider yourself a liberal or a conservative, because all Americans have felt this! It has become such a sharp divide, and the country is split right down the middle! This is what should concern any red blooded American! It has gotten to the point, just as in the times of the Civil War, even families are divided!
Only the President can repair this, but apparently, he's too busy sharpening the divide?
