Sarah Brightman - Dust in the Wind -

Sarah Brightman - Dust in the Wind - Like sand through an hour glass, dust in the wind, we are nothing but unto ourselves. The soul which is the life inside you, looks only to be recognized. What it shows when exposed to the others of so many, is who ew really are, our legacy. To make a difference, you must be willing to expose what makes you different. Because what makes you the same, makes you to be truly, Dust in the wind.

The way the Truth and the life.

So what is truth, is it many things, in that there are many truths about many different circumstances? If truth lies in so many places, isn't it weakened by having it's forces spread so thinly? And wouldn't then the possibility that if one truth is spun so much as to appear false, that it weaken the power of truth? Wouldn't it cause people to doubt what they know to be true?
Firstly, you should know, that the truth can not be spun, Stories filled with lies may swirl around it, but truth never moves. So then, it is only sensical, when you are looking to find the truth in anything, that you look first to those things solid and immovable? The truth is absolute, it is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow, the truth just is. But if finding the truth is so important, why do so many look to pervert it, why do they fear it so? Because the truth is like a spotlight, when it shines on you, it exposes all of your flaws. And if the truth will show someone to be wrong, then lies are to be told if that person is of a weak character.
The truth is even immune to the laws of relativity. Certainly, the truth is always relative, but it is not limited to the moment, but rather remains true, long after that tick of time has moved on. Truth you see, is eternal. The truth is not something that is only true for any measure of time, the Truth is forever!

The sublime and the rediculous

Seeing as how I am in a musical state of mind, I figured, Why not give in and talk about that? So here it is, and here it comes, From where we go from here is anybody's guess?
But I have been tinkering with the logic of it for some time lately. But as it happens, no matter how hard I try to put music into perspective, I find over and over again, that music, and the love of it, is a very personal thing, A thing of a much deeper substance. Possibly best described as a quantifying of the human spirit.
As a writer, I often hear other writers talk about writer's block? I question it, because I don't believe I've ever experienced it, not in the classic sense anyway. But I have written about it many times, music that is, because music, all most never leaves me without a thought. Often, it is music which is the vehicle I take to get in, my ride to the sublime and the ridiculous.
Music can be a cross town traffic jamb, or it can be a relaxing time spent on a Summer's day. Music is timeless. If you were to look around at today's music with honest eyes, it isn't hard to separate what will still be heard fifty years from now, from that which will be tomorrow's trivia question.

Page One Three

Of course, there are other religions in the world, and of these, the Eastern philosophies are helpful to the health and well being of our physical selves, and can prepare the mind to think in spiritual ways. But for our purposes, we will look only at the big three. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
But here's the thing, if you look to place all of the world's problems at the feet of our Muslim brothers and sisters, then your spiritual understanding is lacking. No matter your nationality or religious affiliation, none are truly clean, as all have done their part in attempting in the destruction of God's plans.
Now, the Muslim problems we have already covered, but what of the other two? It was the Jews who ordered the Roman soldiers to hang Jesus on a tree. The charge? The only one deserving death, Blasphemy. To blaspheme against the holy spirit Of God, is the only charge they could make which would legitimize the sentence of death. It was and still is, the only just sentence for one who goes willingly against the precepts of God the Father. Though it once was a sentence for an actual death, what it really is, is a sentence of a spiritual death.
Interestingly, Christians are not excempt from such a sentence either, because they too have blood on their hands. It wasn't all that long ago when Irishmen killed each other in the name of religion. So what is the answer, which of the three religions is the right one? Again, you might think, that for no other reason, then by virtue of it's name, that Christianity is the obvious answer. This is true, but only to an extent.
The good news, is that Jesus is the unifier, and he doesn't give a wit about your religion, and the man made doctrines which were installed as a way to God, and far too often as the only way. However, Jesus has said, That no man comes to the Father except through me. It is true, and if the exclusivity of that statement offends you, that is your problem.
Because he wants a relationship with you, one that is extremely personal, he asks as a father would love his children. So then, the answer to end all of this murder, comes by accepting the hand of the unifier, because the son of the living God says to you, Come to the Father, and all are welcome who know and love me.

Obviously I am speaking of the oncoming war which Islamist extremist look to start. Understand that this is not an inditement of a billion plus followers who follow the teachings in the Koran. It is important to note, that Alah is just another name for God the Father, spoken in an Arab tongue. For the Arab people are a proud race, with a rich and diverse culture. A culture of many tribes, some who come from royalty, and some just of the common man.
So what has happened? If Jehovah is God, and Allah is God, what is the problem, and when did things change? Make no mistake, the extremist quote the Prophet Mohammed perfectly, you can see his words and teachings in black and white print in the Koran. But there was another prophet who came approximately seven hundred years before Mohammed's birth, I speak of course, of Jesus Christ.
Seven hundred years between these two men, is nothing when you consider it within the context of history, and certainly not, when thought of against the enormity of time eternal.
So then, two men enter the world, each hailed as a prophet, one of Arab ancestry, and one who was born in the city of David. Two men whose influence in the shaping of all human interactions from that point forward. Two men, two prophets who affect our world still, from some two thousand years later.
Two men whose teachings stand in sharp contrast to each other, two men who are at the center of what this war is all about.

This is a writing that is long over due. One not of tongue in cheek, one not of politics, but rather a simple accounting, a tally which tells where we are now in history.
When I say that it was long in trhe coming, I mean that, in bits and pieces, it has been on my mind for quite some time now. The Lord has seen fit to make me a writer, a prophet to some, and a menace to others. But I am a true teller of tales, and nothing more. In order for you to understand what it is that I am about to tell you, you must hear these words with spiritual discernment. Because the spiritual plays out in real time on your TV sets, the two are entirely different things, one being of the physical only, and the other of the spirit.
Now before I go any further, this is turning out to be a three piece set. This one and the second already written, and the third not yet. As a Christian, I would be remiss, if I didn't tell you that Jesus Christ was and is, the son of the living God. But in order to explain these current events, we will concentrate on what all religons say about Jesus, and that is that he is a prophet.

About Nothin

What does it matter when nothing matters? Is there something the matter with that? If so, what is the matter that brought about the matter? And as for what matters, that is, what it is that matters to you, What is that matter?
Is it the worry and woe that comes with unpaid bills? Is it serious sickness, or just a momentary lapse of health? So what is the matter that matters to you, and would it matter to you, if what matters to you doesn't matter to me? I can be like Question Mark and the Mysterious sometimes, I know, I ask a lot of questions, and that's a fact.
What's the matter with me, is that nothing matters. That is to say, I have no worries. I used to worry, but now, I don't worry anymore. But this can be a real problem for some people, people want you to worry. I guess they figure that it's only human? They look at someone who claims to be free from worry, and yet they are humped over with the weight of worry? It isn't fair. How can this man have no worries they say. He has no feelings, he is an oaf without a heart. Look at him. He comes and goes as he pleases, as if he doesn't have a care in the world? How is this possible, I have worries, you have worries, everyone does, how is it that he can have none? It isn't fair.
So I'm guity as charged, so sorry if it bothers you, but I don't worry about nothin anymore.

Epilepsy Friendship Support: A Mother's Promise

Epilepsy Friendship Support: A Mother's Promise: For my precious daughter (RC) I shall never give up on you, as my Father in Heaven will not give up on me. All my love to you. Mama
A father's love. I know first hand the trouble this disease has caused you. I cried when you returned home from the high school dance, and no one would dance with you, because they had seen in grammer school, you during an attack. Kid's can be so cruel.

Hollywood

A man of the West has stepped into the East. An old Western called, A Man for the West, was rich in dialogue, great in cinematography, complete with sworn blood oaths, real contemplative stares, sex, beautiful scenery, and actors who were the best at their craft. One hell of a movie!
The point of all this, is not to summarize a movie, but rather a tale of how Hollywood has gone bad. The moral truths that permeated this movie were woven into the scenes with such skill, that you hardly noticed them.
But what of today's movies, and who are the actors who now work in them, compared to what was?
What morality do these portray? Has human decency and basic morality become so blase? Is it the profit that drives the shoot em ups, is it only money that is now king? If Hollywood as a community has a morality, what is it? You spray murder and death across your scenes, and then later, preach about guns? You are a joke, and you have no honor. You pick at nats, and call it morality. A doctrine based on someone's hurt feelings. What of the truth? Has telling the truth become immoral?
So what is Hollywoods morality? Allow me to take a crack at it? We've got Robert Redford, a pretty boy from the sixties moralizing a common murderer, and then calling it art. And Liam Nielsen, fresh off his last murder spree movie. Who after pocketing his millions, has the audacity to lecture the American people about guns? Hypocrisy? You bet! Most of what is now passed off as entertainment is based on lies. Where is the morality in that?

Guilt

Guilt can come at you cool and slow like from somewhere out of the back woods, or it can come hot and fast like a cold shot in the city. But guilt will come get you wherever you live.
No one can escape guilt, that is, none who are people of conscience. But there are those who's conscience has been seared, and these are the one's who can perform the most heinous of crimes. But these who have removed guilt from the pain and death that they inflicted on others, even these are not free from conscience when it is personal to them. Because even the heartless care about something. And when they feel that they have let someone down who they love, or something, an ideal they hold dear, they too feel guilt. Guilt is a personal thing,
The point is that all of mankind has felt guilt, it is after all, who we are. For guilt is the master of our making, it is the very thing that we once clamored for, and guilt is exactly what we got. Guilt came in where our normal instincts left off. Until that first sin, before that first wrong choice, there were no wrong choices. It comes from a place deep within; You see, guilt came from rationalization. But before there were wrong decisions to make, there was no negative out come to consider. It came when thought first replaced instinct, and we had words with which to plan and consider.
But before all of these considerations need grow with our knowledge, before any of it, consider this. That before sin, there was nothing to consider, because all outcomes were good.
So then, for those of you have not yet figured it out, the Kingdom of Heaven is a return to the Garden of Eden, before that bite on the apple. A return to innocence, a place of no fear. A place where guilt has no place, a place where there is no negativity at all. The Kingdom of Heaven is yours for the asking. All you must do is ask Jesus for the keys, and he will freely give them to you. Refuse, and you are on your own!

Fair Share

You hear the President speak about fair share a lot. So much, that if you were to do a search on it, he has probably spoken the phrase hundreds of times. But for him to utter it so often, tells even the casual political observer that it is an effective phrase. So let's go with his own words. Firstly, I agree whole heartedly with the premise. Afterall, all stand to gain if everyone paid their fair share. But how do you accomplish this fairness doctrine? The President , being the consummate politician, only will use the term to suit a political end. His political ideology makes his use of the term as a knock of the rich, which strangely or not, covers himself, as well as most all of whom he now considers his closet friends. But his hypocrisy is not the point here, but rather the subject of his hatred, our Capitalistic way of life.
The problem is for those who look to defend the engine that drives this mighty nation, may well lie in semantics? I mean, just think of the word itself. Capitalism? By its root, does it conjure up the ineptness of the politicians who are now in power in our capital? Or worse yet, you might think of the evil capitalist who hoards his money, only to acquire more, as he steps on the heads of those who dare to get into his or her way? Like it or not, Capitalism is the engine that drives the bus. Maybe a more likable word for it? One that is really far more accurate then the word we now use. I propose that a semantical change is all that is needed, something softer on the tongue, something much more palatable? Instead of Capitalism, use the word Consumerism. Afterall, we are a nation of consumers, as is all the world. We all must purchase the goods and services that we need as staples, and when finances allow, a few luxuries. Now I don't claim to understand the tax laws, who can, as the books that hold such laws when stacked on top of each other are taller then I am. The problem is, that we have things reversed if our collective goal is that everyone pays their fair share, in that, under the current system, we are taxed on what we make, rather then what we spend. In a society driven by consumerism, everybody pays, as everybody spends. I don't know the math, but the percentage of a consumption tax would have to be established at a rate high enough to cover our national costs for the government to function properly. For argument sake, let's say that if we took the total amount of money spent for all and any goods and services. Let's say that 10% of that total would keep the country in the black.
Again, because by nature I am a simple man, I can't see how this system couldn't work? The only people who would be against it outright, are the groups who now profit from it quite handily. Accountants and tax attorneys, two powerful lobbies come to mind. But these are highly educated people, and they can surely find another way to make a living. I agree with our President, and everyone should pay their fair share. No more loopholes, no more scrambling to file your taxes, as the tax would be collected each day, every day. Even the obscenely wealthy couldn't hide from this one. What could they do if they didn't spend, pile their money in a vault and watch it collect dust? Money is only useful when you spend it, because until it is spent, it is just so much paper and gold. Everyone talks about reforming our tax codes, so why not do it in one action? Oh, and as a bonus, none need worry about the Lois Lerners of the IRS, because there would be little use for such a powerful agency anymore.

Perception

What is perception besides the obvious answer, that it is how we perceive things? How is it that each of us comes to see things in our own way? A way, that although many may hold a similar point of view is uniquely our own. For the most part, our perceptions are based on preconceived notions that go right to the base of who we are as people. Certainly our environment, particularly in our childhood, is a big part of this. We come to believe certain things because they are taught to us, and conveyed in what our parents and older siblings believe, and how they live their lives in accordance with those beliefs. Later on, as the child goes to school, it is much the same. What we are taught is important, we tend to believe is important, and so the school, your teachers and your classmates, all have a lot to do with who it is that you now are, and what it is you believe to be true. If you were to go to an art museum, you would see perception in a more actual sense. Small groups will cluster around certain paintings, while others will look quickly, and move onto the next, looking to find one that draws their interest.
But within these groups, there is something that drew them to the painting. Some will look trying to decide what the painting is supposed to be. While others will think about what the artist was trying to portray in his work. Still others will be caught up in the colors and shades, how they blend, and what shading they portray. Some will see beauty in the textures, and the landscape surrounding the focal point of the piece. The point is, that all are drawn to different aspects, and for different reasons, depending on how they perceive it. Art is a uniquely personal thing.
Perception comes from what you believe to be true. These beliefs come from the preconceived notions about life, by the things that we have experienced and learned about those experiences along the way.
Perceptions are a big part of human interactions in the bible. In scripture you will read things about people like, The scales fell from their eyes, and now they can see. Certainly, this could have been literal, like fish scales falling away. But I see it more as metaphorical, as in their preconceived perceptions falling away. How many times haver you heard in a blues song, something like, Once I was blind, but now I can see? Again, it could have been actual, but at least in the song, we can believe that it was a metaphor for something else.
The Lord will take all of your ill conceived, preconceived notions and turn them on their ear, giving you a whole new way to look at things. What he will say to you is, once you decided to come, Once you were blind and couldn't see me, but now, you are no longer blind, the scales have fallen from your eyes, and you can see. Welcome to the family!
