Surviving A Nuclear Explosion ( Part One )

In the moments before the explosion, there will be a dead stillness at the location where the bomb will ignite. Even the tall grasses act strangely, as they move neither to the right or to the left, but rather stand straight up? The once bright green field has turned a sickening grayish green pallor. All the birds in a twenty-five mile radius of ground zero have left the area, leaving the landscape eerily quiet? The leaves on the trees add to this macabre scene as their leaves have turned upward, bottoms up, and the shiny top side now all facing down? Everything has become soundless? Dead still, and then the sound of a metallic sounding echo, and FLASH! There is a bright white light, whiter then white, a clear white? Things accelerate now! In fact, all that I have just described occurred in a mili-second!
If you saw the flash, you were immediately blinded as your retinas burned out! No matter though, as the hellish scene has been fixed forever in your mind's eye! Next comes the searing heat which causes all of your skin to blister and fall away, exposing the shiny red muscle and tendons once covered by this skin. Simultaneously, the exposed muscle and sinew boil into a convoluted mess, and disappear as steam! Bones change from a solid to a powder of calcium and other basic elements, before it too is destroyed, disappearing with the intense heat! This is the last vestige of your body, before you are vaporized completely! All that you were gets swept up by and joins the exited atoms which are everywhere!
This is what the fireball at the center of the explosion does. Like a super heated furnace, it first exposes all of the basic elements, before turning it all back to atoms, dispersing it throughout the universe, this is what would happen to you if you were at the center of the fireball! Further out from the center, there are layers working from the inside out into the radioactive cloud which rises miles into the sky! Each layer is different, but no less perfect in the final solution? All bring about death first, and then a new life! We will examine all of the parts that make up this bomb, and what their effects are, to whatever is caught up in them, as we move further into the story.
