Oceans of Time

I have been taken and forsaken, I have been round about and in and out. I have been around, and I have slept flat on my back. I have loved and lost, but I have seen enough of it to thirst for it, like a deer pants for the water of life.

What goes by in the endless river of time as it flows continually, has not escaped me. I watched as the small tributaries and streams joined with the river of time, and then of course as the river met it's destination, I watched as the river dumped it's story into the great oceans of time. Some of it stayed as surface waters, while other parts of the roaring river dumped full deep into the oceans.

I have watched as the jackals have surrounded our camps, but they are of no concern to us. For as for ourselves, we are lost in thought of the memories each of us have left in our wake as we travel downstream like the rest. More and more of the past's memories become dimmer. We remember with fondness the small victories, and with a sense of dread, those memories of when we inflicted pain on others, and of those who inflicted it on us. All will fade, and eventually, all will be forgotten, as little by little at first, we look forward instead of back, eventually loosing our fear of what is ahead, we begin to anticipate it. What will it be like to join into the great Ocean of Eternity? Eternal life, and wisdom of all things. Because now you are beyond the restraints of time, and you quickly understand the answer as to why? Here there is no need of time. Here, a minute can seem like years, and years like minutes.
