People of the Forest

They came out of the forest, just a trickle at first, but soon with no fanfare, came the rest of the people in a flood! They seemed to have melted out of the darkness of the forest into the brightness of the rising sun? It was as if they had just appeared from out of nowhere?  John had not heard the commotion at first, not until he felt Max tense at his feet. Max was sitting focused on the parade of little people as they emerged from the woods. His most serious pose, the one that always made his ears fold up forming that soft flat piece that John liked to pet. But Max could control himself no more, and he bolted up from the bedroll, and began sniffing at every person he could! That is until he came upon Miss Lottie Dee Fess, who smacked him hard across the snout, causing him to yelp! None of the people were larger then the dog, but after he gave it a brief thought of concern, John dismissed it. Max would not bite anyone who was not a threat. Lick them to death maybe, but never a bite!
As the people came out from the forest, some pushed wheelbarrows of what looked like brightly covered moss? There seemed to be a moss for every texture and hue that you could imagine! There were many shades of green as you might well expect, but also oranges, yellows and browns. There was another that looked quite elegant as it was royal purple in color, interspersed with golden flowers which looked like buttons! But there was one other, more beautiful then all the rest! It was pink in color, but it wasn't the color of the moss that John felt so drawn to, but rather the heavenly glow that came from it!
Thomas, John asked, what is that pink moss, and why does it... Beautiful isn't it, Thomas interrupted. The pink moss is a very special moss, he explained, it comes only from the garden of the Lady of the Forest! It is so special, that only one family can tend to the Lady's garden, and it is considered a great honor! And so, it passes from one generation to the next. These tenders are called, The Keepers of the Pink!

Maybe

There is a solid reason for today, as there is for everyday. But more attention should always be given to the here and now. There is no time like the present, I like to say, but then again, I very rarely do? Sometimes truth can get lost in the circles, circular reasoning will frustrate pure logic everytime!
Now this is a factual saying, and it is the way that it is. It has never really been anything else, as it is always been the matter at hand!
Explosions of great thought will knock you off your feet, and such is the Kingdom of Heaven! Imagine, eternity with the greatest intellect of this or any other world! Why would you think of rejecting this? What is it that goes through your mind when you do reject it?
Or maybe you think that I am just good with words, and by my imagination, come all that I have written? Now that would be quite a compliment, and I would have every right to be right proud!
But I have told you already that these are not my words, I only put pen to paper, or type to page.
Greatness in language is a powerful thing, and good orators are hard to find. But there are Phrophecies to be fulfilled, and someone must record it. Surely, to leave it on the ground, by forsaking the truth is the greatest harm that you will ever do to yourself!

Thomas, King of Gnomes

The two men talked and smoked into the night, John Whitmore of the Big People, and Thomas the Gnome, king of the Kingdom of Snail Rock. John found himself with less and less to say, as he was content to just listen to what the smaller man had to say. He would say things like, The texture of the clouds must fold in upon themselves before they can squeeze a drop of rain. He spoke with authority about the rhythm of life, and how things came to be, the order of it all. He spoke with a great reverence about the secret things of the forest, and it seemed to John that he was quite wise!
Now he had a lessor understanding of the world of which John had come from, but John was not the first of the Big People that Thomas had entertained over the years? In fact, he must have also been quite old, because when he spoke of some others that he, Thomas had met, John got the impression that some had been people from long ago? He looked to be quite old, his face had deep crevices in it, and his skin was the texture and color of leather? He had a long white beard, and a soft misshapen hat covered most of his straggly looking hair. He was an impressive fellow John thought, even though he was so small in stature.
John was at his ease now, and he knew that he would soon be asleep, as try as he might, he could not think of one detail that had not been taken care of? So Thomas he finally said, may I call you Thomas? Of course the Gnome replied, I had thought that you might have some questions, go ahead sir, and speak on! Well then Thomas, how is it that one so small as you were able to prepare my camp, did you do all this by yourself, where are all of your people? Of course I didn't do all of this by myself, why that would be quite silly to think that, wouldn't you agree? But before we go on, you have not yet told me your name sir? Oh yes, quite rude of me, please except my apology, my name is John, John Witmore. With this, John settled deeper back into his bedding, and took a long pull on his cigar and said, but please my good man, you were saying about your people?
My people are all out in the forest, because it is at night that we tend to our gardens, mushrooms you see, grow better in the darkness. It took many of us to prepare your camp and tend to those huge horses, for you are of the Big People, and where it would take many of us to do this thing, it would only take very few of you. After we finished the preparations here, everyone went into the forest to tend to their crops, I stayed behind to wait for you to awaken.
