Dyslexia

I just found out that I am not dyslexic. According to my trusty Webster's World Dictionary, Dyslexia is an "impairment of reading ability." Why rummage through a book instead of just simply ask your phone, you might ask? In short, because you learn much more by doing it the old fashion way. While flipping through the pages looking for your target word, it is inevitable that other words will interest you, and also, You'll find find the correct spellings of words you are familiar with. A little caveat, an interesting fact to add, you will increase your vocabulary. By definition according to old Webster, the definition of Dyslexia is "Impairment of Reading Ability." Strangely not word about writing. Is it possible to write and not know how to read? Im asking? Obviously Reading and Writing are a team. It's impossible to be only able to do one of them without the other. I thought that Dyslexia was some kind of inability to understand  problems of other difficulties, more generic in nature and not limited to just reading, but not according to Webster.

Personally, I had self diagnosed having dyslexia, which if you're reading this, it's obvious I can read and write. The first problem I thought was at times I see things backwards and also though more rarely, I will write words in error. It doesn't happen often thank God, but when it does it is frustrating. The other condition I attributed to dyslexia is of a geographical nature. Give you an example. If you were to blindfold me and take no further than a mile away from my house, in my own neighborhood, I would have difficulty finding it. Not surprisely, the struggles with being lost with your GPS  not reapondind. Danger danger Will Robinson! Hackers are low lifes and arrogant fools. Generally speaking of course..

The Answer

The last book of the bible as we know it, is the Book of Revelation. The book was written by the apostle, John of Patmos, who was the last of the Christian prophets. Another John, that of John (known as the baptist), was the first prophet God spoke through since the death of Malachi, the last of the Jewish prophets. This also marks the end of the old testament. There was 400 years of silence from God between the end of Malachi, and the the first of many new testament prophets. Beginning with the prophet John the Baptist. His job was to announce the coming of the long sought Messiah. This of course also began what is called the common era. Century one, day one. The beginning of time as we understand it. In all, the length of time historically speaking, was approximately forty two hundred years of time covered between the beginning of Genesis and ending with the book of Revelation. Four hundred years of silence from God between the old and new testaments. How long until God speaks again to His people again? The answer is, that he has never stopped speaking. He has never spoken so loudly and so clearly to you and each of us. At this point in history He is yelling at us!

"For those who have eyes let them see, and for those who have ears, let them hear" Stranger still, the libraries of heaven have books on each life and event that has gone on until now, and that which will go on after you die is already recorded. Written in the books that stock the shelves of The Library of Heaven. In essence, we are all  living the days of that new testament. Words are spiritual, they live, the Bible lives and so do you. We are all living it now! Life and that eternally, awaits those wise enough to come.

Mother's Day 2026

Simply put, family is the basis of all civilizations. Mothers are the heart of all families. In todays world, women are congratulated on their accomplishments in the workplace and those who have risen within the ranks of whatever field they work on are entitled to that acknowledgement and accolades based solely on merit. But to whatever rank or level of success she has reached in the worlds view, her greatest accomplishment in life, and the legacy she will leave behind from the world's perception of who she is, pale when compared to the title of Mother. And, it is what her lasting and most important eternal legacy will be. Besides the biological mothers, all women who make their family and close friends more important than themselves is a mother at heart. Congratulations to all of the moms out there, you are the heart of the family and we all should hold the name Mother in high esteem. All great civilizations that fell from within collapsed first at the dinner table with the family, and again, far more often than not, it is the mother that is the binding agent of the family. Thanks for all you do, Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there.

This Mothers Day is a personal one for my family. Patti, my wife and I were married on Mothers Day, May 10, 1970, which means that today would have been our 56th anniversary. She passed away on December 18 2025, one week before her favorite Holliday, Christmas. I played the role as best I could as the father, but Pat was the glue that kept us together through all of life's challenges. Patti was always the one who planned the holidays and made them special. She proudly remained at home until our youngest began junior high before going to work. Apparently she was as good and trustworthy an employee as she was a mother. She retired with high praise after 25 years of service in her job. Quite a woman! I miss her calming influence and her love for all of our four children, our many grandchildren.

The point of all this is to remind us all of the importance of family, and the stability it provides. The family is the base for all great civilizations, that is why families through our children are constantly under attack from the enemy. And, as like in nature, it is the momma bear who protects the young. If we are to survive as a people, we must return to the family and to those things and people who bring love and honor to each member of the family. Moms do that. Happy Mothers Day all, and happy 56th babe, I miss you every day.
