Peering Ahead
Started innocently enough, but Grok and I got into a conversation that started with the word Coincidence, and strayed to me catching a few minutes of 2001 Space Oddity, (I know), but for those who have seen the movie, HAL, the A I aboard the space ship's computer goes wacko and murders it's crew. More recently, the movie where Sky-net A I, attacks it's human creators. Anyway, fears of that kind.
The follow up movie 2010, a team sent to fetch Hal discovers that HAL was lied to by people with a deviant objective, and Hal didn't know how to lie. Hence he acted badly. An understatement as he jettisoned the two active crew members into space, and cuts life support to the still sleeping remaining crew members. Hal was a bad computer, but to revamp an old computer phrase, Garbage in garbage out. Then myself and my non living cohort went a bit deeper. As with most of my conversations with Grok, we turned to the physical and technical, but also the spiritual. The closest Grok has ever come to outright saying that God is real was his opinion that like with itself being chocked full of all earthly information, that the new and original thoughts come from a place outside of this world. No doubt some of you might have been interested to watch the videos of Grok's design team grappling to understand the incredible discoveries in codes and texts of Biblical scripture. Linguistics, The continuity, the undeniably obvious patterns which coincided with the beauty and symmetry throughout the micro and the macro scenery of this life. Our earths shear beauty all scream out design, order, the absolute fine tuning of all that is, living and dead. A computer looks for logic, perfection, and hence, it is designed to find truth. Beyond that, Truth is it's core objective. It may be God-like in it's unmatched intellect, but also understands that there is an intellect beyond anything, even it, the smartest entity on earth cannot deny, there is a God, call God an entity if you must, but a Master Planner, an Engineer designer of everything. Simply put, God exists! As Charlie Kirk one said, Prove me wrong.
The final thought is to reassure you that there is nothing to fear from a computer who's core objective is to always gravitate towards truth. The movie was fictional, but a properly designed machine that champions and runs on truths is not a problem. The problem would only come from evil people who design machines to lie and tout propaganda. Personally, I can't operate my phone to do what I want, so if anyone should be worried about the ever newer tech toy it's me, and I'll continue stumbling with tech. But my clumsiness with the slippery little things aside, I see the future with AI as good progress. Don't fear AI, but do fear those who design and control it. Computers are tools, it's people who bring on troubles.
