What It Is
Still, after all these years, throughout all of history in fact, there is nothing as powerful as the written word. And though power is a good thing in the right hands, power must also be minded, as power corrupts many, power can corrupt as fast as given gold. Strangely or not, it is the power of the written words, because they are twice as strong when written, rather than only spoken. That power is what keeps most away. So let it be said, so let it be written. Surely that must be the reason why so many choose not to read? If an accurate poll is actually used, my guess is that more people don't enjoy reading than do. Today, we want to put no effort into anything, and after all, reading makes me tired.. But for those who know, the pen truly is more powerful than the sword. In other words, for most, given the option of true understanding, they would choose instead to follow the blind.
Literature throughout the ages is is like the finest art, for as in other art forms, and as is with all things done in excellence, in expression is truth found. And only in truth is real wisdom found. When it comes to the written word no matter how elegant, there is none so fine as are the words of scripture. For in the scriptures you will read the written words of God. The Bible says of itself as written in (Prov. 22: 20, 21); Have I not written you excellent things, things of counsel and knowledge, that I may make known to you, the certainty of the words of truth. Amen
